This is my take on the traditional shepherd's pie with both traditional Ground lamb and modern ground beef take on it.
My recipe goes a little like this:
1lb. mirepoix (1/4 celery, 1/4 carrot, 1/2 onion)- Saute then steam in a
Cup of beef broth.
1lb ground lamb and 1lb ground beef. - cook it in with the mirepoix.
Season it w/
Lavender herb blend, salt, pepper, soy sauce. All to taste.
As for the mash potato crust:
1lb rustic potatoes (peal, cut, boil, mash)
1Tbs butter
Salt and pepper TT
When everything is set and ready place in a flat casserole pan, spread mash potatoes on top of everything. Sprinkle a little of panko bread crumbs on top. Then back at 350 degrees for 30 min.
After let set for 5- 10 min and serve. Cheers.
You can also interchange and add what ever you like to this recipe to make it your own style and flavor.
A stylish look through the eyes of a Food Lover and self proclaimed epicurean with a taste for alluring "food porn" with additional enticing descriptors of a variate of Modern and Vintage techniques along with traditional tastes are sampled from the world of gastronomy, food styling, and Mixology along with everything in between. Will not give up until "Culinary Nirvana," is found, so come join in on this journey as both new and old places to explore and see what they have to offer.- Cheers
